Courses

Petroleum Experts offer the following standard training course to clients:

Integrated Production Modelling  5 days

Using GAP, PROSPER and MBAL the course is designed to improve the engineers understanding of the approach to building Integrated Production Models. There is a focus on the engineering, quality control and program navigation.

Advanced Integration Course (RESOLVE) 5 days

This Course is designed for users already familiar with the first level of Integration within IPM (GAP, PROSPER and MBAL) and wish to take the integrated production modelling approach to the next level, integrating numerical simulation reservoir models, process models, economics as well as implementing Global Optimisation and Field Management Rules within the system.

This Course covers how to dynamically connect multiple applications and the opportunity that this level of integration brings at the moment of fully optimising our production system.

The Course content is covered by a series of projects with a variety of Engineering Objectives, from Field Development Planning to Daily Field Optimisation.

At the end of the course, not only will the attendees be familiar with the use of RESOLVE but will also gain an understanding of how to best formulate global optimisation problems within such Platform.

PVT Workshop 5 days

The overall objective is to allow the participants to develop an approach to characterising a variety of fluids using the package. There will be practical examples characterising fluids from real data.

Integrated Field Management  3 days

Understand IFM functionality as an Integration Platform for Field Management tasks. Understand Model Catalogue Functionality for managing models. Understand the functionality of Standard Workflows in IFM for: Well Rate Estimation, Well Production Test Validation and Analysis, Model Based Production Allocation, System Quality Control, Optimisation and Forecasting.

Advanced User Courses 10 working days - 2 weeks

These course are offered to corporate clients.  The aim of this very intensive course is to develop advanced user, who will become regional and asset based experts in the whole philosphy around integrated asset modelling.  The course is only suitable for IPM users who have solid experience building full integrated models from reservoir to process for a number of assets with their company.  Currently these course are only being offered in Petroleum Experts Edinburgh office.  Each course is for a single corporate client company.

Workshops
The workshop are offered to asset teams who are developing IPM models, where the client engineers wish to develop more advanced techniques to model and understand their field.

Workshops normally have an agreed set of modelling objectives.  Petroleum Experts will dedicate one petroleum engineer full time to support the asset to achieve their goals.  Further Petroleum Experts will make available additional engineering specialist as the workshop may require: PVT, reservoir, EOR, optimisation, etc. Workshop are carried out in Petroleum Experts offices.
